What personal data we collect and why we collect it

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture (if you have one) is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

We do not ‘request’ media from the users of out websites… however, it’s wise to get in the habit of NOT ALLOWING any EXIF GPS data to be captured in ANY image you share on the internet, because if you upload images, you should know there MIGHT BE embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. IF those images are used, that data might be able to be downloaded and extracted, thus showing the location the image(s) was taken at. PLEASE BE AWARE. We try to strip all personalized EXIF data from the images we knowingly use on any website we manage or control on the internet.

UNLESS YOU ARE AN ADMIN, EDITOR, or other such roll WITHIN our business/website, you won’t generally be granted any permissions to log in, therefore we’ll never ask you for your password… FOR ANYTHING! Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. Users may be able to see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time – IF IT IS COLLECTED, except they cannot change their username. Website administrators can also see and edit user names, and all other information, EXCEPT passwords. Our system doesn’t allow passwords to be displayed to ANYONE… either ‘created’ or RESET are the only options we can force.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, and WE DON’T GENERALLY ALLOW THAT ON OUR SITE(S) unless you work for/with our company, or if you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, financial, tax, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

How we protect your data

We strive to treat people, and their personal information, as we’d like to be treated… and have our data handled; responsibly and as securely as possible.

What data breach procedures we have in place

Our systems have virus protection and regular scans. We have daily backups. And sensitive information is NOT STORED IN THE CLOUD! Your financial information is NOT EVER ASKED FOR OVER ANY INSECURE internet portal by any of our websites!

What third parties we receive data from

MD’s Choice, Inc. and affiliates. We DO NOT SELL our customer lists or their personal information. We never have, and never will, despite being offered a great deal of money for some of our active lists.

What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data

We look at trends in ACCESS DEVICES (computer vs tablets vs smart phones, or other devices).

We seek information about BROWSERS – to focus our efforts on compatibility

We look at GEOGRAPHY, AGE, SPECIES OF INTEREST (i.e., people products vs dog, horse, cat, bovine, or other species)… as it impacts both our information development and research, but also any new products we might be developing.

Industry regulatory disclosure requirements

The FDA randomly inspects our facility… and regularly inspects all the cGMP certified manufacturers/bottlers we work with in the USA. We do NOT work with ANY FOREIGN manufacturers! And other than *MAYBE* Canada, we won’t EVER! Our philosophy is that if we can’t DRINK THE WATER in that country without boiling or heavily filtering it… odds are any nutrients harvested there could be equally sketchy for the average body!
